Event Details

Halloween, or All Hallows’ Eve, is a time of year dedicated to remembering the dead with roots in Gaelic and pagan traditions. The term memento mori means “remember death” and has roots in art history. This genre uses symbolic reminders of death and mortality ranging from skulls, decaying food, and broken objects to more subtle examples, such as wilted flowers or shadows.

The art of memento mori reminds us to have fun in life, because death is right around the corner. Join us in celebrating the season by admiring beauty in the art of death. Featured artists include Lesser Gods Art, Zachary Sweet, and Justin Herbst.
