Rough readings are the first step for the development of a play. The purpose of the rough reading is to give the playwright a chance to hear their play read aloud and get a feel for how it feels onstage. Audience input significantly helps the playwright develop their play.
So come out and join Playwrights Foundation in the reading of The Final Days of Negro-Ville about a charming ivy’educated mayor of an all-black upper middle class community who has to make hard budget choices when a recession threatens their organic food and yoga classes.
>> Stick around for the Q&A period following the reading with the playwright, while drinking FREE booze and cookies
