On Memorial Day, SF & Bay Area Get Two Air Force Flyovers

The 129th Rescue Wing will perform two flyovers between 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 25, Memorial Day.
The flyovers demonstrate the United States Air Force’s continued readiness and express gratitude to health care providers, first responders, and other essential personnel on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19.
Bay Area (12:30pm to 2:30pm)
An aerial formation including one HC-130J Combat King II aircraft and two HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopters are set to begin the flyover from Moffett Air National Guard Base, Mountain View, and will pass over the north and south Bay Area medical facilities.
The flyover is scheduled over San Jose around 12:30-12:50pm then heading up the Peninsula reaching San Francisco around 1:10pm doing a flyby of Laguna Honda, UCSF, CPMC (on Castro), the VA, then to the North Bay and about 2:15pm flying over Berkeley and Oakland.
Diablo Valley, Central Valley & Salinas Valley (11:37pm to 2:13pm)
In addition, a single HC-130J Combat King II aircraft, also set to begin from Moffett, will perform a flyover and pass over the Central and Salinas Valley area.
The flyover should go over Fremont/Pleasanton/Livermore/Antioch/Yountville from 11:37am to 12:08pm.
Residents in these areas will be able to see the flyover from the safety of their home and should maintain all social distancing guidelines during this event.
