SF’s Insane Dark Orange Skies: Day Turns to Night
Well, this is weird… this morning the street lights were on and the sky burned a dark orange as if we were on the surface of Mars.
Thanks to SF Gate and SF Dept. of Emergency Management for giving us the lowdown on why day turned to night and the sky is so orange this morning.

- Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel

- Alert Wildfire
The dark orange skies are due to widespread haze from wildfires burning around us floating high in the atmosphere. That’s why the air quality is technically still “good” to “moderate” on the ground and the smoke doesn’t smell as intense and previous days across most of the Ba Area.
Although SF Gate reports that parts of the East Bay have smoke closer to the ground and reports of falling ash in places like Concord Airport.
Good morning #SF! No, you’re not living in an @instgram filter. According @NWSBayArea The sepia skies are due to widespread haze from wildfires burning around us. Learn more about poor air quality safety by visiting https://t.co/KEPzIeJQ7r. https://t.co/sCN7QJdP88
