Muni Says 90% of Riders Wear Masks
Despite high mask compliance, there have been 9 reported assaults of bus operators over mask rules since April

Thanks to ABC7 for letting us know that despite push back from some riders, Muni reports that 90% of riders comply with mask rules.
For Muni in San Francisco, the rules are simple. No mask, no entry.
While mask compliance is high, Muni says that there are reports of operators being verbally abused and assaulted by people upset with being asked to wear masks.
From April 22-August 31 there have been 63 “verbal altercations” with operators over mask rules, 9 have been assaulted, one with a wooden bat.
