After sitting unused for 7+ months, then being open for about a month, Skystar will need to shut down starting Sunday, November 29th as part of San Francisco’s move to the Purple tier which means that attractions like ferris wheels must close.

The SkyStar Observation Wheel features 36 fully enclosed, climate-controlled gondolas that hold up to six passengers each. Gondolas are private and not shared with other customers outside of your party.

What about refunds? There is no mention of refunds, but instead Skystar states on their FAQ “You can reschedule tickets for a future date via our contact page.”

The Observation Wheel is located in the Music Concourse, the outdoor plaza near the de Young Museum, the California Academy of Sciences, and the Japanese Tea Garden.
