Thanks to KQED for letting us know that the Sundance Film Festival’s Drive-in screening will be allowed to take place in San Francisco once again.

San Francisco city officials previously had stated that drive-in theaters would not be allowed under the current stay-at-home orders in the city, despite the fact that the state allows them.

San Francisco’s historic Roxie Theater was selected as a one of 30 presenters for this year’s film festival which will happen simultaneously across the country at selected venues, a first for the festival which normally takes place in Park City, Utah. It’s the only Northern California presenter, along with the state’s other two venues in the Los Angeles area.

The Sundance Film Festival is scheduled for January 28 through February 3, 2021 at Fort Mason. Tickets went on sale on January 7. Tickets start at $15.
