Thanks to KQED for sharing the awesome aerial footage by Ari Kapoor on Surfline of the homogenous waves this year at Mavericks, the famous surfing spot just north of Half Moon Bay.
This winter has produced some of the best surf conditions in the past 30 years at surf spots all along the Northern California coast, with massive waves, sunshine and no wind. Some of world’s best surfers have been coming out to Mavericks to catch some waves, along with plenty of spectators and photographers to watch the surf legends.
Check out the awesome aerial footage of Mavericks below and Pro Surfer Peter Mel catching an insane barrel wave, the wave of a lifetime.
