New Mass Vaccination Site Opens in Mountain View
Santa Clara County recently opened a brand new mass vaccination site that can accommodate up to 1,000 people per day, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., 5 days a week.
Thanks to KTVU for sharing the news of the new vaccination center located at the Mountain View Community Center. For now, vaccinations will be through appointment only, similar to many other vaccination sites in the Bay Area.
Due to limited vaccine supply, the County and other healthcare providers in the region are currently offering vaccinations to healthcare personnel and long-term care facility residents, as well as people who are age 75 and older. As more vaccine supply becomes available, healthcare providers will expand access to additional groups.
The Mountain View location is now accepting appointments. To schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment at this or other locations in Santa Clara County, visit sccfreevax.org.
This week, Jan. 25-30, they’ll be administrating 20,000 first-shot doses, and 13,000 second-shot doses. However, they’re still limited by supply which California is still struggling with. Until more vaccine doses become available, it will be a struggle to move closes to the 70% or better vaccination rate we need to help get us out of the pandemic.
