The Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) presents Un Viaje: Pride at the Park, a drag performance immersed in live folk music with Banda Sin Nombre. This performance will take place on Saturday, June 17, from 3 to 6 p.m. at TJPA’s Salesforce Park Main Plaza.
Banda Sin Nombre’s live music performance will feature rich vocal harmonies with acoustic instruments including guitar, fiddle, charango, jarana, cajon, upright bass, and saxophone. The band’s musical influences range from Peruvian chicha to Catalan rumba and Appalachian old-time to cumbia.
Persia, Donna Persona, Shane Zaldivar, La Katia, Mama Dora are shape-shifting drag queens that many have seen at Aunt Charlie’s, The Stud, Compton’s Cafeteria Riot, the Ferry Plaza, Drag Story Hour, Esta Noche, El Rio, and beyond. On June 17, you will get to see these icons at the Main Plaza of TJPA’s Salesforce Park. Drag is for everyone and can be anywhere! This is an all-ages event in celebration of Pride.
