San Francisco, get ready to see some familiar faces—or at least ones that closely resemble Dev Patel’s.
On November 10, 2024 the city will host a unique look-alike competition honoring the beloved Slumdog Millionaire and Monkey Man actor. The event, set to take place at the Miguel Hidalgo Statue in Dolores Park at 1 p.m., invites anyone who thinks they resemble the star to enter for a chance at a $50 cash prize (this is the closest the organizers could get to 20 million rupees)
The contest has gained momentum on social media thanks to a QR code flyer, which directs curious fans to sign up online. With 169 people already marking themselves as “Going” and another 151 marked as “Maybe,” the event promises a lively crowd of Dev Patel doppelgängers and fans.
Organizers seem to be following in the footsteps of a recent Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest in New York City that saw a huge turnout—even catching the actor’s attention.
