Popular “China Live” Restaurant Opening 13,000 Sqft Spin Off in South Bay
Thanks to SF Gate for sharing the news that popular “China Live” restaurant and marketplace is opening a spin off restaurant called Asia Live.
The team behind the acclaimed China Live prepares to debut Asia Live at Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara. Scheduled to open this fall, this massive new dining destination is set to occupy the 13,000-square-foot space previously held by iChina, which closed its doors last year.
Asia Live promises an expansive menu inspired by the diverse flavors of Asia, featuring influences from China, Japan, Southeast Asia, India, and Korea. Diners can expect an innovative selection of dishes, including popular offerings from China Live, such as pan-fried pork buns and Peking duck pockets, alongside an array of new creations. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen concept with specialized stations, including sushi and robata grills, tandoori ovens, and Indonesian rice tables.
With seating for up to 350 guests, the space will include a rooftop terrace and outdoor patio, adding to its appeal as a vibrant dining hub. Westfield Valley Fair has been positioning itself as a premier destination for food lovers, bolstered by recent additions like Ramen Nagi, Din Tai Fung, Baekjeong Korean BBQ, and Marugame Udon. Asia Live’s arrival is expected to further elevate the mall’s culinary offerings, making it a key draw for Bay Area residents.
For those who appreciated the innovative fusion of flavors at San Francisco’s Betelnut, which closed in 2015, Asia Live offers a fresh take on blending regional cuisines, now expanding its scope to the broader Asian culinary landscape. It marks another exciting chapter for George Chen and his team, renowned for redefining Asian dining experiences.
Westfield Valley Fair’s transformation over the years has turned it into a culinary hotspot, and Asia Live is poised to become a standout destination for locals and visitors alike.
