SF Unveils New Dead-Inspired Psychedelic Buses
Muni is rolling out some serious Summer of Love vibes. Just in time for the Dead & Company shows in Golden Gate Park (August 1-3, 2025), SFMTA has wrapped two buses and one train in vibrant, psychedelic designs.
The colorful vehicles – dubbed the “Psychedeli-bus” and the “Trippy Train” – are decked out with stars, swirls, peace signs, and plenty of tie-dye to celebrate the Grateful Dead’s 60th anniversary.
You can spot the groovy rides on the 5 Fulton, 7 Haight/Noriega, and N Judah lines – all routes that serve Golden Gate Park.
These aren’t ad-sponsored wraps either; they were created in-house as part of Muni’s efforts to boost rider pride and connect to SF’s rich cultural history. The designs will be in service throughout the summer, though with just three vehicles in rotation, catching one might take a bit of luck.
