Sunrise Ceremony at Alcatraz for Indigenous Peoples’ Day (2025)
The Indigenous Peoples’ Day Sunrise Gathering on October 13, 2025 and November 27, 2025 are organized by the International Indian Treaty Council, commemorating the 1969-71 occupation of Alcatraz by the Indians of All Tribes.
These are one-day events and not the standard Alcatraz Island tour; all areas except where the ceremony takes place will be closed and inaccessible to the public.
