San Francisco could soon be getting its very first Sprouts Farmers Market.

According to the San Francisco Standard, the grocery chain, which already has more than two dozen locations around the Bay Area, is planning a brand new store in SoMa, with a reported opening in 2028.

The store is expected to take over the former Nordstrom Rack space at 555 Ninth St., in the two-level shopping center that also includes Trader Joe’s, The Container Store, and a few empty storefronts. Sprouts is known for its big produce section, natural and organic products, and easy-to-shop shelves for vegetarian, gluten-free, and other diet-friendly options.
