​Join your favorite San Francisco reporters and newsrooms to celebrate the inaugural San Francisco Local News Day! Let’s raise a toast to the people keeping us informed about what’s happening around us. Come meet our city’s hard-working reporters and hang with us in an informal setting at the wonderful KALW space downtown.

National Local News Day is a new national day of action launching on April 9, 2026, connecting communities with trusted local news. Its mission is simple: reconnect people to trusted local outlets, empower newsrooms to grow, and spark a national movement that sustains local news for generations.
