Following her seminal documentary on the punk rock scene but years before she would go on to paying love homage to this subculture in “Wayne’s World”, director Penelope Spheeris created the perfect snapshot of the 1980s Los Angeles hair metal scene, a decadent snapshot of sex, drugs, fame, and rock n roll! Focusing on both the bands and the fans, the film features notable stars such as the members of KISS, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Poison, and an egg-cooking Ozzy Osbourne in a bathrobe! And that’s not to mention live performances from Megadeth, Lizzy Borden, and a few bands who are less remembered in 2026. But the heart of this film is the music lovers who just wanna rock! Featuring a preshow by the metalheads from Media Meltdown who are headbanging to celebrate the 7 year anniversary of the first Media Meltdown show!
