Cultural Encounters: Friday Night Soirées with the Alliance Française, celebrating French culture.

Rue Manouche
6:30–8:30 p.m.
Live Gypsy jazz and French cabaret music

“Highlights from Birth of Impressionism,” a lecture by Dr. Jean Audigier
7:00–7:30 p.m. Dr. Audigier discusses some of his favorite works from the special exhibition

Hands-on art making for everyone, with Mademoiselle Kim
6:30–8:30 p.m. Make a 3D collage of a French street scene.

August Artist-in-Residence Alexandra Blum, Silhouettes and Conversations: Articulating a Communal Vision
1:00–8:30 p.m. The artist will trace your silhouette and incorporate it into her work.

About Friday Nights at the De Young
On Friday nights the entire museum is open until 8:45 p.m. Friday Nights at the de Young offers a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, tours, and lectures. The cafe is open with a special Friday Nights dinner menu, and a no-host cocktail bar is serving drinks. There are art making activities for everyone. All Friday Night programming is free unless otherwise noted.
