First Friday Concert Series | Oakland

Every First Friday after Art Murmur in Oakland, The Uptown holds a free concert featuring local musicians and beyond covering indie rock, electronica, hip hop and everything in between.

There is no cover, doors open at 6 pm and the show starts at 9 pm.

The Uptown Nightclub is closed as of November 6, 2014.

On July 5, 2013, singer-songwriter Bart Davenport will be headlining The Uptown’s free first Friday concert series. Extra Classic and She Owl will open the show.

• Bart Davenport is a singer, guitarist and pop artist from Oakland California. Earnest, reverential yet borderline satirical, his music celebrates the idealized fantasy of true love while simultaneously conveying a sincere yearning for a better world.
• Extra Classic is an indie band from San Francisco, CA.
• She Owl sings dark, evocative and spellbinding lullabies with a timeless and expressive voice.
