2019 Back-to-School Bash: Free Backpacks, Haircuts, Produce & More | Bayview

Since 2004, BMAGIC has given away brand new free backpacks filled with essential school supplies to celebrate the beginning of the new school year. Children entering kindergarten to 12th grade are welcome on August 17, 2019 from 11 am to 2 pm. Parents/guardians with K-8 students must attend together, and all youth must be present in order to receive backpack & materials.

The event also serves as a community building activity where children, youth and families come together and learn about the various services CBOs in BVHP provide as well as other city agencies and service providers.

2019 Activities

– Enter for your chance to win in the drawing for 50 bikes
– Free uniforms, backpacks & school supplies for every student
– Free haircuts by Mobile Love
– Free facepainting
– Free produce for families & food for the kids
– Arrive early & kickstart your morning with a 10am boot camp hosted by Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness
– Free dental screening by Bayview Clinic
– Skateboarding offered by SF Skate Club
– Soccer by Street Soccer USA
– Join in to celebrate the life of Jeff Adachi

Plus once again, at the MCD booth, students will get to use exciting and unexpected materials to personalize their backpacks and supplies.

In past years, BMAGIC has distributed 2,754 backpacks to local children and youth.
