Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

Freespace is a pop-up community center focused on hacking the civic experience. It is hosted in a 14,000 sqft warehouse in S0Ma, San Francisco, envisioned and implemented entirely by you.

Freespace was originally just a one month project, but it was extended to two months thanks to successful Indiegogo campaign. They’re now open periodically (check their schedule). They host a wide array of events and projects like classes, music, art, silent discos, yoga, a free bikeshare, community engagement and field trips, and more than a few silly costumes.

Contact Dance Playshop | Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

Have you ever watched people pull, push, twist, flow and move together in that kind-of-crazy-looking art form of Contact Dance (or contact improv)?

Mylo will facilitate a contact dance playshop that encourages connection, relationship, and play.

Activate your body within another like geometric patterns set to spiral. Flow for the workshop will be based on Open Source Facilitation– that is, Mylo will set the tone and then allow other dancers to lead ‘break out dance conversations’, wherein the conversation you have will be with your body and soul. All members of Dance Squad are invited to serve as ambassadors.
