Come enjoy an evening of poetry with poets Troy Jollimore, Keith Ekiss, Rebecca Foust, and Lorna Stevens. Hosted by Pegasus Books Downtown.
About the poets:
Troy Jollimore‘s poetry has appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry, Ploughshares, McSweeney’s, The Believer, and many other publications. His first book, ‘Tom Thomson in Purgatory,’ won the National Book Critics Circle Award for 2006. His second book, ‘At Lake Scugog,’ will be published in 2011 by the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets.
Keith Ekiss is a former Wallace Stegner Fellow and Jones Lecturer in Poetry at Stanford University and the past recipient of scholarships and residencies from the Bread Loaf and Squaw Valley Writers’ Conferences, Santa Fe Art Institute, Millay Colony for the Arts, and the Petrified Forest National Park. His first book, Pima Road Notebook, has recently been published by New Issues Poetry & Prose.
Rebecca Foust’s books include All That Gorgeous, Pitiless Song (Many Mountains Moving Prize, 2010) and God, Seed, environmental poetry with art by Lorna Stevens (Sept. 2010). Foust’s poetry won the 2007 and 2008 Robert Phillips Chapbook Prizes and appears in Hudson Review, Margie, North American Review, Spoon River Review, and elsewhere.
Lorna Stevens received her MFA in sculpture from Columbia University. She exhibits widely in galleries and public spaces. Her work has been featured or reviewed in The Boston Globe, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Marin Independent Journal, and Artweek, and has been acquired by the Brooklyn Museum, the New York Public Library, and the di Rosa Preserve in Napa, California.
