Come out for an afternoon with millets, highly nutritious, drought-tolerant, and gluten-free grains at the The Millet Project Exhibit on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from noon to 5 pm at the UC Gill Tract Community Farm in Albany.
Free, but an RSVP is required.
Take a stroll through the small-scale millet farm at the Gill Tract Farm and see different varieties of this grain growing right there, and taste millet based food and drinks. They will have millet recipes from all over the world for you to taste.
At the Millet Project Exhibit, you will have the chance to:
- See a beautiful field of millets
- Meet their Millet Project farmer-collaborators (the people who actually grow the millet) and supporters
- Taste millet-based food like millet beer, millet malt, millet sausage and meet the millet beer brewmaster in person
- Pick up seeds to plant your own millets, and millet samples to cook your own millet dishes
For the last few months, the Millet Project team and collaborators have been working hard – farming four types of millets, educating the community about the awesomeness of these grains, cooking up a storm, and learning about tasty millet recipes.
