Prepare yourselves for an overdose of cuteness, because March 23rd is National Puppy Day. Established in 2006, National Puppy Day is a paw-some day for all dog enthusiasts to celebrate unconditional love and fawn over the undeniably cute furballs that bring so much happiness into this world.
While we’re all softies when it comes to our four-legged friends, today is also designed to raise awareness about puppy mills and help prospective pet owners consider adoption.
Get a New Temporary Roommate – Why Not Foster a Dog? A great way to celebrate National Puppy Day during the coronavirus era is to foster a dog.
Currently looking for foster homes for these sweet pups (yes, a dog of any age is still a pup in our mind!). If you are bored and stuck in quarantine like the rest of the world, fostering is a great way to help our little four legged friends find their forever homes.
- Rocket Dog Rescue
- Muttville – Lovable senior dogs
- SF Animal Care and Control
- SF SPCA
Please note that the above organizations may have different needs during the shelter-in-place order. Some may have temporarily suspended fostering, some may be soliciting donations, others looking to build up a volunteer force for after shelter-in-place.
So celebrate your adorable pups, or just oogle at some of these photos along with us and dream of a warm snuggle.
