Event Details

Learn about Ceres and C-type asteroids at the East Bay Science Cafe’s discussion on asteroid discoveries by high school and college students at Cafe Valparaiso in Berkeley on Wednesday, August 3.

Join guest speaker Dr. J. Patrick Miller, who is the Director of the International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC) to learn more about the strides made by amateur star-gazers and professionals alike at this forum organized by the University of California Berkeley Natural History Museums and Science@Cal to discuss interesting and relevant scientific issues.

The goal is to encourage public engagement with science by inviting members of the scientific community to present topics for a casual evening of conversation, so sit down with a mocha to listen to Dr. Miller talk about everything from stars to students at this forum on flying near-Earth objects.

Café Valparaíso at La Peña (3105 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley) | Wednesday, August 3 | 7-9p | FREE
