Here’s a list of what to look forward to in December 2025! We’ll be updating this list frequently as we get more date confirmations.

41st Annual Great Dickens Christmas Fair 2025

November 22 – December 21, 2025 – Daly City (Cow Palace) – $45 (Adult General Admission Tix; discounts available) – The Great Dickens Christmas Fair is a one-of-a-kind immersive adventure into Victorian London. Join in for an elaborate holiday party with hundreds of costumed players performing and interacting with patrons in over 140,000 square feet of theatrically-lit music halls, pubs, dance floors, and festive shops.

2025 Nob Hill Tree Lighting Ceremony

December 1, 2025 – SF (Nob Hill) – FREE – Kick off the holiday season at the annual Nob Hill Tree Lighting Ceremony with live seasonal music, cookies and hot beverages and remarks from local community leaders.

Castro Holiday Tree Lighting 2025

December 1, 2025 – SF (Castro) – FREE – Kick off the holidays as San Francisco lights up the iconic Castro Holiday Tree.

SF’s Drag Queens on Ice 2025

December 4, 2025 – SF (Union Square) – FREE to watch; $30 to skate (with skate rental) – Lace up your skates and twirl alongside the Queens and Kings or grab a prime spot rinkside to watch the fiercest drag personalities in the San Francisco Bay Area deliver holiday performances that’ll sleigh your heart away.

Let’s Glow SF 2025

December 5-14, 2025 – The country’s largest holiday projection event, will return to downtown San Francisco for the 2025 holiday season with whimsical, large-scale pieces of animated art across the facade of eight iconic SF buildings from 5:30-10 pm nightly. On Opening Night, the light shows begin at 7 pm following the performances plus there’s free hot cocoa.

2025 Hayes Valley’s 35th Annual Holiday Stroll

December 5, 2025 – SF (Hayes Valley) – FREE – Stroll around the neighborhood surrounded by live music, holiday lights, and decorated windows. Visit the shops for in-store activities, wine & treats, and special promotions.

Santa Skivvies 2025: Holiday Underwear Run Through the Castro

December 7, 2025 – SF (Castro) – FREE to watch; Donate to run – The Santa Skivvies Run is a festive romp through the Castro benefiting the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Watch hundreds of bods drop trou, don Santa hats and reindeer antlers to help raise funds to support the free and local services of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

San Francisco SantaCon 2025: City-Wide Santa Pub Crawl

December 13, 2025 – SF (Union Square) – FREE – San Francisco’s annual SantaCon brings hundreds of fully costumed Santas together for a citywide pub crawl, landmark stops, and plenty of merry mayhem.

Union Square’s Winter Walk 2025

December 13-24, 2025 – SF (Union Square) – FREE – This 12-day celebration transforms two blocks of Stockton Street into a festive holiday destination, featuring a holiday marketplace, interactive vendors, food trucks, family-friendly stage performances, seasonal drinks, holiday decor, the oversized Ornament Trail, and more.

2025 Union Square’s Chanukah Festival

December 14-22, 2025 – SF (Union Square) – FREE – San Francisco celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic 25-foot-tall giant menorah in Union Square with an eight-night festival featuring nightly lightings, live music, and community celebrations, capped off with a festive menorah car parade rolling out from Union Square.

Off the Grid’s Giant Holiday Night Market

December 19, 2025 – SF (Fort Mason) – FREE – Off the Grid returns to Fort Mason for a special holiday night market featuring 25+ food trucks, 50+ craft vendors, live music and DJs, hands-on family art workshops, strolling Dickens performers, seasonal drinks and bites, public art, and festive waterfront views.

New! SF City Hall’s Winter Lights

Through December 30, 2025 – SF (Civic Center) – FREE – San Francisco City Hall has unveiled a brand new holiday light show, City Hall Winter Lights, a free projection mapping display that transforms the building into a giant animated storybook through December 30.

San Francisco New Year’s Eve Fireworks at Midnight

December 31, 2025 – SF (Embarcadero) – FREE – Ring in 2026 with San Francisco’s free waterfront fireworks show, a midnight burst of color over the Bay that draws thousands to the Embarcadero for the city’s biggest New Year’s Eve tradition.
