NAMI Hikes: Hiking the 2nd largest Park in SF | McLaren Park

On the weekend of the 13th, we will be hiking the second largest park in San Francisco: John McLaren Park. We will be on the Philosopher’s Way trail, which has 14 different thought-provoking stations consisting of quotes, short bits of history, and memoirs.

We will meet at the trailhead, which is right across the street from the parking lot. Use the address 1227 Mansell Street to navigate to the meeting point.
There is a parking lot with ample parking spaces and for MUNI riders, the 29 Sunset will take you directly through McLaren Park. The 52 Excelsior, 54 Felton, 9 San Bruno, 8 Bayshore and 8BX Bayshore “B” Express, 56 Rutland and 43 Masonic will all take you within the perimeter of the park.

We will also be making this a “themed” hike for fun, so please wear the color ORANGE anywhere on your body.

We aim to build resilience, growing community and celebrating San Francisco’s natural beauty with a dose of outdoor recreation. Get to know the city’s gorgeous public parks and make some new friends while you’re at it. Join in on the trails with us and feel the difference even a short jaunt through the park can make.

All are welcome to join. The volunteer adventure leaders will make sure you have a good time, no matter your skill level. All trails are accessible unless otherwise noted. There’s no cost to participate, and you don’t need to register — just show up at the meeting point and they’ll all set off together.
