Winter Solstice Eve 2019: Beach Celebration & Plunge
Friday, December 20, 2019 | 4:00 pm
Ocean Beach, Great Hwy & Quintara, SF
FREE

From Ocean Beach at Great Highway & Rivera, there is a pathway across the Great Highway leading to a staircase. The ritual will occur close to the staircase.

This is a spiritual solstice event, NOT a beach party. There’s no alcohol or drugs allowed. So if you’re looking for a drunken beach rager, this isn’t the event for you. But if you’re looking for a way to connect with others who celebrate the solstice, you’re welcome to join.

Bring warm layers, a towel, dry clothes, a lantern or candle in glass (you may wish to label these with your name), greenery or compostable items for the solstice altar and food items to share. Flashlights are helpful for gathering things after the ritual. Please do not bring firewood.

To honor both the land and our own bodies, they will not be building a fire.

Disclaimer: Please double check event information with the event organizer as events can be canceled, details can change after they are added to our calendar, and errors do occur.
