San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) is finally reopening its doors.
To celebrate the occasion, they’re a “Reawakening Celebration” on March 25. RSVP to attend the party with food, drinks, dancing and music.
The time has come for YBCA to reawaken our physical space, with a celebration on Friday, March 25 at 5:30 pm. After a number of obstacles kept us all at a distance, from the COVID-19 Omicron variant to repairing our building from a massive water leak, we are excited to finally open our doors at 701 Mission Street.
The evening kicks off with a blessing ceremony on our 701 Mission Plaza by Galeria de la Raza to honor their new exhibition Pedagogy of Hope: Uncage, Reunify, Heal. Inside our building, you can experience Pedagogy of Hope, as well as Samora Pinderhughes’s The Healing Project, engage in workshops with the YBCA10, and activate The Monument as Living Memory with a performance by Caleb Duarte and students from Fremont High School.
We’ve missed you. Plain and simple. So let’s celebrate! With music, food, drinks, and dancing, our gathering will ignite YBCA’s spaces and all the creative power we harness together.
Admission is FREE (cash bar for ages 21+).
Vaccination status will be checked at the doors. Please pardon a slight delay to enter the building as our staff work to ensure everyone who enters keeps the space healthy and safe for all communities. Read our complete Health and Safety Guidelines here.
Looking for something to do earlier in the day? At 4:00 pm, SF Urban Film Fest will present their final residency program with YBCA at the Dr. George Davis Senior Center in the Bayview. Titled When Generations Come Home, this film screening and panel discussion shines a light on intergenerational power in neighborhoods. More info here.
