San Francisco’s Castro Theater’s historic neon sign is looking vibrant again thanks to its recent restoration.

The theater, originally built in 1922, is undergoing a major makeover for its 100th birthday. The 100-year-old movie theater (429 Castro St.) will be shutting down temporarily later this year and then will reopen as a live entertainment and concert venue in 2023.
