This is a two park event.
Palou Phelps Park, 9am-10:30am
Pier 94, 11am-1pm
Join the California Native Plant Society, Yerba Buena Chapter in the 2023 City Nature Challenge, organized by the California Academy of Sciences. This is a worldwide tallying of species with the goal of collecting as many iNaturalist observations as possible in one weekend. Yerba Buena Chapter bioblitzers will be concentrating on bees, bugs, plants and birds at Palou Phelps Park and Pier 94. At 9am, a neighborhood group will join us at Palou Phelps to explain the threat of development this park faces. Then at 11am, Janet Carpinelli from Golden Gate Audubon will give us the history of the flourishing Pier 94 restoration. Here’s how it works – sign up for an iNaturalist account. You can make observations on the Android or iPhone apps or upload photos to your computer and make them online later. Email with questions: yerba.buena.cnps.chapter@gmail.com
