It’s our favorite time of the year at DIVA or Die, when the foggy San Francisco summer slips almost imperceptibly into a weirdly warm-ish fall. It is the time of year when you want to take a walk in the fall foliage, rake leaves, start a cozy fire in the fireplace, and cuddle up with a Hot Toddy and a good book…well, in many other parts of the country at least. But it is San Francisco and the leaves are probably still green-ish, you can start a fire if there is no unhealthy air quality warning and, well, enjoy that cozy book with Hot Toddy or a Pumpkin Spice Latte with Oat Milk. Hopefully it is a scary book. Because the other great thing about the fall is…Halloween!

Our last show of the year is pretty darn close to Halloween. So close, in fact, that we can’t possibly ignore this favorite holiday of so many. Naturally, we are embracing it! But Halloween isn’t just about blood and gore and scary movies and scary books. It is about the subtle psychology of a real thriller, the screams in the dark that pierce your ears, the sexy seductions that happen before the bloodlust, and the dreams that wake you up in a cold sweat.
Our Halloween show isn’t just scary. It is also about reimagining our childhood and our adult dreams. Trick or treating as a warrior or a princess, our first adult party as a sexy _______ (insert noun here), or bobbing for something (let’s call it apples), playing some other twisted game like putting your hand in a bowl full of peeled grape “eyeballs” or cold pasta “brains.”
This show is about a lot of things that are Halloween. Our performers will surely make you scream. Maybe out of terror. Maybe out of excitement. Maybe just because they can. But you’re going to love it. It is everything you imagined in your most vivid dreams and nightmares. Who knows what terrors our sexy performers will bring you? Or they may simply taint your innocent childhood Halloween characters and romps. The frightening will become titillating and your dreams will become fraught with tension. Regardless, you will be on the edge of your seat and won’t want to miss a Single…. Exciting…. Terrifying…. Moment.

Calliope Quaint
A life-long dancer, Calliope Quaint has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally, and is an award-winning burlesque performer. She loves teaching in order to share her insights and empower others. She is a prolific choreographer, producer of DIVA or Die, and leader of The Quainted Ladies CanCan troupe. She also teaches weekly modern dance classes and has co-created five theatrical burlesque/cabaret productions. She’s no Saint, She’s Calliope Quaint!
Suprema de la Rouge
Suprema de la Rouge is a German native, and the Fraulein with the fein Hein. This queer femme of all trades is the co-producer of DIVA or Die in San Francisco and in charge of its social media accounts. In 2023, she made her debut as co-host of the show, and has since then been invited to other shows as emcee. Additionally, you can find her ushering at the Oasis and helping out at other burlesque and variety shows in the Bay Area Occasionally she will teach how to embellish all kinds of things with rhinestones. She is a world traveler, redhead by choice, dress enthusiast, and lover of colors, flowers and sparkles.
