This marks the 100th anniversary of the Legion of Honor’s founding by Adolph B. and Alma de Bretteville Spreckels. The museum was a gift from the Spreckels family to the city of San Francisco in commemoration of the California soldiers killed in World War I.

All programs are free and open to the public. Entry to the permanent collection galleries and the special exhibition Mary Cassatt At Work is free. Exhibition tickets are limited, first come, first served.

The Legion of Honor, known as San Francisco’s most beautiful museum, presents ancient and European art spanning 4,000 years in an unforgettable setting overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.
Built to commemorate California soldiers who died in World War I, the Legion of Honor is housed in a striking neoclassical building in San Francisco’s Lincoln Park. Its expansive collection includes Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker, which sits in the museum’s Court of Honor, as well as European paintings, decorative arts, and sculpture; ancient art; and one of the largest collections of prints and drawings in the country.

- This ticket includes access to the Legion of Honor’s permanent collection galleries as well as Zuan-cho: Kimono Design in Modern Japan and Woodcut: Primary Printmaking.
- Ticket includes same-day general admission to the de Young museum.
