2013 Hog Island Huff: Stand-Up Paddleboard Race | Tomales Bay

Marin County Parks and Demo Sport have paired up once again to bring you the third annual Hog Island Huff, a Stand-Up Paddleboard race on Tomales Bay, to take place on Saturday, September 14, 2013.

The five mile race will begin just off of Miller Boat Launch on the east shore of Tomales Bay. Racers will navigate through the network of channels and sandbars around Hog and Duck Islands, and then head back to the launch to finish the race.

Never heard of Stand-Up Paddleboarding before? This event is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the up-and-coming sport and see local paddlers in action. 

The day will begin at 8 am and the race starts at 9 am. All participants are welcome, but an intermediate skill level is suggested due to challenging weather conditions on Tomales Bay. The $20 registration fee includes event parking. Boards will be available for rental to experienced paddlers. After the race, all participants are rewarded with $1 raw and $2 BBQ oysters plus a private lunch menu available at neighboring Nick’s Cove.
