One tamale, two tamales, three tamales, four!
That’s how many different kinds of tamales you will learn to make during this signature tamale-making class with mountains of masa, banana leaves, and corn husks.
Come get your hands dirty making tamales with the women of La Cocina. When you’re done packing and molding the perfect tamal, they’ll wrap up your special creations for you. Hungry already? They’ll steam them for you while you shop for local artisan treats and craft goods at the holiday market in Ghirardelli Square.
This is a one-day-only event with 90-minute classes starting at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.
Tamale making is usually a group activity. Bring your kids, friends, and family to learn the process from start to finish: from making the sauce, to cooking your fillings, to picking the right corn husk, and assembly.
Please Note: La Tamalada takes place on Sunday, December 7, 2014, and not on December 6 as was previously posted.
