Event Details

In partnership with The Center for the Art of Translation, translator Edward Gauvin and Michael Holtmann talk about Serge Brussolo’s The Deep Sea Diver’s Syndrome.

Serge Brussolo is one of France’s most influential authors, acclaimed for his hybrids of science fiction and fantasy, set in a uniquely skewed reality. The Deep Sea Diver’s Syndrome combines all of these elements in an exciting novel where mediums retrieve items from dream worlds that convert into valuable artworks in waking life. Beautifully translated by Edward Gauvin, this is Brussolo’s first book to be published in English. Michael Holtmann, the Executive Director of The Center for the Art of Translation, will join the discussion of Edward Gauvin’s impressive work.
