Trio Garufa performs classic Argentine tangos from the golden era (’30s-’50s) as well as Argentine folkloric music (chacarera, zamba, guarania, gato, chamamé) and modern tangos from Piazzolla as well as original compositions. Their music is exciting, virtuosic, and rooted in the dance. They are the only tango ensemble in the US to have performed extensively in the milongas of Buenos Aires. They will pair this performance with professional dancers to show the thrill and passion of the Argentine tango experience. The group includes Guillermo Garcia, guitar (Argentina), Adrian Jost, bandoneon (Switzerland) and Sascha Jacobsen, string bass (California).
Grab a sandwich and a summertime drink and meet friends and colleagues for a mid-day interlude of the finest jazz, world, and classical music under open skies.
