Local music fans are gearing up for warm weather and smooth sounds with the arrival of Stanford Shopping Center’s Summer Jazz Series. Performing in the 25th year of the popular, free jazz series are artists such as Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, Times 4 and Le Jazz Hot Quartet.
The ten-week concert series is hosted by Stanford Shopping Center and produced by SFJAZZ, a leading non-profit jazz organization on the West Coast .
Stanford Jazz Workshop Faculty All-Stars – June 23
With this swinging show, Stanford Jazz Workshop kicks off its 40th season! Beloved by SJW students as educators as well as maintaining careers as leading performers, the All-Stars present an afternoon of new arrangements of classic jazz, featuring saxophonists Patrick Wolff and Andrew Speight, trumpeter Erik Jekabson, pianist Joe Gilman, bassist John Wiitala and drummer Hamir Atwal.
