SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2026
The 2026 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Hermán Olivera y Orquesta Taíno to kick off its 26th season. The Festival features over 100 free performances from May to November in Downtown San Francisco.
2013 Grammy winner Lila Downs and her phenomenal band bring a dramatic, unforgettable reinvention of traditional Mexican music and original compositions fused with blues, jazz, soul, African root, and even klezmer, all supporting her soaring voice.
Downs is not afraid to shake things up with a cumbia rock, beat-poet style rap, or even the chirps of an iguana. The music defies categories, except to say that it is simultaneously edgy and powerful, yet sumptuous and graceful, rooted in the human condition, promising an emotional and memorable ride.
