SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2026
The 2026 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Hermán Olivera y Orquesta Taíno to kick off its 26th season. The Festival features over 100 free performances from May to November in Downtown San Francisco.
Ensemble Mik Nawooj performs the innovative music of composer/pianist JooWan Kim, who injects Western European Classical compositional techniques into such genres as hip-hop, rock, and pop. EMN combines Pierrot ensemble instrumentation (flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano) with a lyric soprano, deep funk drums, a heavy contrabass, and two featured MCs.
We think NPR said it best: “Whoever said that chamber music couldn’t be hip obviously haven’t heard of Ensemble Mik Nawooj.”
