SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2025

The 2025 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 10, 2025 with La Santa Cecilia to kick off its 25th Anniversary Season.

Dutch artist Maria Blaisse creates works that blur distinctions between costume and sculpture, encouraging a symbiotic interplay of body, material, form, and context.

For Mother’s Day, a group of local choreographers, dancers and architects join Blaisse and the Netherlands-based curatorial platform Slow Research Lab for a “dance of possibilities” in Yerba Buena Gardens.

The outdoor performance is followed by a discussion with the artist and performers in the YBCA Grand Lobby, moderated by Slow Research Lab director Carolyn Strauss and artist-curator David Wilson.
