Treasure Island is a great place to watch the fireworks; however, things are a bit different in 2025 than in past years.
Treasure Island will be closed to cars for the fireworks for 2025; only Treasure Island residents will be permitted onto the island by car. To watch the fireworks from Treasure Island, non-residents must arrive via the 25 Treasure Island Route, by the Treasure Island Ferry, or by bicycle from Oakland.

Please note, that in past years, it is usually very crowded on Treasure Island, and there are often many traffic restrictions that make parking next to impossible on the island. In general, Treasure Island is a much better place to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks that are set off near the Ferry Building rather than 4th of July when the fireworks are set off much further away near Pier 39.
Additionally, expect increased SFPD presence on Treasure Island that evening. Admiral Security will be patrolling the residential area as well, and can be reached at 415-760-0406 to report suspicious activity.
Some Rules about watching fireworks on Treasure Island
- All posted “No Parking” and speed limit signage on the island must be obeyed at all times
- Keep Treasure Island clean and taking out all garbage
- No fireworks of any kind are allowed on Treasure Island or Yerba Buena Island
